Jeremy Burke Schraeder (July 18, 1978 – October 2, 2024) passed away in his sleep at his home in Verona, WI. Jeremy married the love of his life, his wife, Carolyn “Carrie”, in 2007. His happiest memory was seeing Carrie in her beautiful wedding dress for the first time. Together they nurtured and raised their beloved daughter, Chloe. Jeremy considered his roles as husband and father his greatest pride.
Jeremy graduated from the Dodgeville, WI High School in 1997 and received his BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002, continuing his education to earn an Associate Degree from Madison College in Computer Systems Administration. Jeremy loved his job and colleagues in the Technology Support Department at Madison College, and his team received the prestigious Madison College Team Achievement Award.
As a child and a young man, Jeremy acquired numerous awards and distinctions in sports, scouts and academics, was adventurous in travel, and loved connecting with others. Jeremy had a hearty laugh and a playful spirit, and was known to all as a kind-hearted, fun-loving person who enjoyed a great game. So many memories were made with his friends and family during an energetic yard, board or online competition. Attending Badger, Packer, Brewer, and Bucks sporting events with his dad and his friends brought him much joy. Cheering at the Brewer Home Opener with his father, Tom was a time-honored and cherished tradition. His proudest moments were in creating a beautiful life with his wife Carrie, caring for their sweet pet dog, Daisy, taking family trips to Arizona, Texas, Disney World, and Harry Potter World, and spending time with his forever-loved daughter, Chloe, who was a sparkle of joy for him every day. Jeremy was a kind and generous person; seventy-five people will benefit from his organ and tissue donations.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn “Carrie” Schraeder; daughter, Chloe; parents, Thomas and Patricia “Trici” Schraeder; sister, Juliet (Dason) Whitsett; Carrie’s parents, Ronald (Sam) and Donna Fluhr; brother-in-law, Casey (Ashley) Fluhr; nephews, Kai Whitsett, Gannon and Grayson Fluhr; and his nieces, Fischer and Sequoia Whitsett.
Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Rita Schraeder and Robert and Myrtle Burke; uncles, David Meisenheimer, John Burke, Michael Burke and Dennis Metzger.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Ryan Funeral Home, Verona Chapel, 220 Enterprise Drive. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Jeremy’s name to the American Heart Association.
