County board sets budgets, tax levy for 2025

The Iowa County Board approved a tax levy against the property in Iowa County at their annual budget hearing Tuesday.

The figure in the budget document was $16,503,708 but that  could change  with the changes the board made during the hearing.

The budget includes a full time Veterans Service Office position which was slated for half time in the original proposal.  The change back was made by transferring crack filling to the capital account.  

“Our budget is getting less and less proper,” said County Administrator Larry Bierke.  “We are playing games to make ends meet,  This does not create a strong financial picture but the board is making it work.”...
