Lynn V. Fargo, age 83, of Barneveld, WI, was reunited with his wife, Kay, in Heaven on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Lynn was born on October 6, 1941, in Madison, the son of George & Verna (Lust) Fargo. He grew up on a dairy farm in Blue Mounds and graduated from Mt Horeb High School in 1959. After graduation, while still farming with his parents (who had then moved to Barneveld), he worked for UPS for a period of time. Eventually, Lynn & Kay bought the farm in Barneveld from his parents and continued the dairy farming tradition.
Lynn was united in marriage to Kathryn 'Kay' Callahan on February 19, 1966, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb. They had two children and made their home in Barneveld, where they lived the remainder of their lives. After his retirement from dairy farming in 1999, Lynn went on to work for Upland Hills Health for the next 20 years as their Hospital Courier. He loved traveling around the countryside to their seven surrounding rural clinics every day. He also continued to help on the farm with his son, Kevin.
Beyond work, Lynn was a quiet, kind man who always had a smile on his face. Over the years, he loved hunting, playing first base in fastpitch softball, participating in bowling leagues and playing Euchre with friends. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He always made time for family and enjoyed going to all his kids and grandkids sporting events and cheering them on over the years. Anyone that knew Lynn, knew he had a passion for watching deer, Huge antlers, and chocolate! Sweets were a daily necessity in his life!
Lynn is survived by his two children: daughter, Kristi (Troy) Marx and son, Kevin (Michelle) Fargo, both of Barneveld. Six grandchildren: Kelsee (fiancé Cody Lambrecht) & Kauy Fargo, and Lexi, Leah, Shelbi & Terek Marx. His brother, Ronald (Joyce) Fargo of Blue Mounds; his three sisters-in-law: Joan Fargo of Mt. Horeb, Pat Callahan of Madison, and Janie (Bob) Hansen of Oregon; and his brother-in-law, Raymond Callahan of Hartland, WI.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Kay Fargo (2016); his parents, George & Verna (Lust) Fargo; his in-laws, Eugene & Ann Marie (McGann) Callahan; and his brother Neal Fargo.
In keeping with Lynn's wishes, no traditional service will be held, but rather a private family graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dodgeville, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family which will go towards the families already established Kay Fargo annual scholarship fund, that will now continue in Lynn's name as well.
You will be dearly missed by us all... We love you!
