Ewing, Lonnie R.



Lonnie R. Ewing, age 66, of Lone Rock passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Richland Hospital in Richland Center, WI.  He was born on June 13, 1957, in Richland Center the son of Leslie and Donna (Dieter) Ewing.  Lonnie graduated from River Valley High School in 1975.  He married Barbara Jean Nelson on August 21, 1982, in Dodgeville, WI.  

Lonnie worked for PIC/Hanor for 25 years and later Rockwell Automation for 15 years until his health problems forced him to retire.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, morel hunting, and fishing with his family.  Before his health problems, he hunted geese, ducks, and pheasants.  Lonnie enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish and archery.  

Survivors include his wife Barbara Ewing of Lone Rock; son, Jason (Stephanie) Ewing of Richland Center; grandchildren, Mason, Kaylea, and Tatum all of Richland Center; mother, Donna Ewing of Gotham; a sister, Nancy Ewing of Gotham; brothers-in-law, Bruce Nelson and Kevin Nelson of Dodgeville; a sister-in-law, Karen (Ted) Fritcsh of Cobb; other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Ewing; grandparents, Lavon and Clemmie Dieter; mother and father-in-law, Carol and Phillip “Jack” Nelson.

A Celebration of Lonnie’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center.  Rev. Kevin Baker will officiate with burial in the Button Cemetery.   Friends may call on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11 AM.  The family asks you to feel free to wear casual clothing blue jeans or Shorts & camo.  www.clarymemorialfuneralhome.com
