Linscheid, Jacob Carl



Jacob Carl Linscheid, 80, of Muscoda died on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Edenbrook in Platteville with his wife by his side. He was born on August 12, 1943, the son of Carl and Virginia (Bremmer) Linscheid. Jake graduated from Muscoda High School in 1961, playing baseball and basketball. Jake was united in marriage to Beth Powell on November 24, 1962, at St. John's Catholic Church in Avoca. He attended UW Platteville, and worked in the grocery business and went into the supper club business. Jake and his family owned and operated the Blackhawk and Manhattan. He went to work at Lands' End and bartending at Tower Junction. Jake loved sports and sports memorabilia especially the Badgers, Bucks, Brewers, and Packers.

Jake is survived by his wife Beth of Muscoda; Children: Kellie (Dale) Manning of Plymouth, Jay (Stacy) Linscheid of Reedsburg; Four grandchildren: Craig Manning, Maggie Manning, Delaney Linscheid, Grant Linscheid; Brother: Jerry Linscheid of Richland Center; Sister: Susan (Gordon) Kremer of Cassville; Sisters-in-law: Mary (John) Franklin of Monona, Nancy Powell of Monona; Brother-in-law Terry (Kris) Powell of Des Moines, IA; Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Virginia, in-laws Harry and Marie Powell, sister Norma Morgan, brothers-in-law Eugene Morgan and Dick Powell, sister-in-law Jan Linscheid.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at St. John's Gym in Muscoda from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass at 11:00 AM. The family requests people wear a shirt from their favorite sports team to the service. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
