Murphy, Patrick William

Patrick William Murphy was born February 9th, 1957, in Dodgeville Wisconsin to Joseph and Agnes Murphy. He died on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at Methodist Hospital.

Patrick was proceeded in death by his parents, Agnes and Joe, and his sister, JoAnne.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, son Drew, and brothers Mike (Millie), Jim (Kay), Tom (Kate), Mark (Terry ), and Ed (Laurie).

He had the gift of making friends anywhere he went after talking with them once. He was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge with a kind and open heart. He was a friend, father, and teacher. Patrick had worked in the Peace Corp. early in his life as an English Teacher in Botswana, dedicated 7 years of his life as a Cloistered Monk of The Abbey of the Holy Trinity, and later left to rejoin the world and start a family. Even after retirement he would keep himself busy by volunteering at Deephaven Elementary to help the school and staff.

It is sad to see him go, but he will never leave the hearts of his friends and family. Let us not forget him.

On May 10th there was a Service in memorial to him at Washburn McReavy Eden Prairie. With a visitation around 1 p.m.-2 p.m. and a Service from 2 p.m.-3 p.m..
