Tredinnick, James “Jim” Thomas



James “Jim” Thomas Tredinnick, 78 of Fontana, CA passed away on April 23, 2024 after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on March 26, 1946 in Madison, WI to John and Mary Tredinnick and spent his childhood years growing up on the family farm in Barneveld. He attended River Valley High School and after graduating in 1965, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Sergeant and completed a tour in Vietnam. After completing his military service in 1968, Jim met and married the love of his life, Stephanie (Fraley), and the couple moved to Fontana, CA. In 1969, Jim and Stephanie welcomed their first daughter, Michelle, followed by a second daughter, Jillian in 1973. In addition to being a proud husband and father, Jim was a natural entrepreneur and demonstrated an impressive engineering prowess while working in the theme park recreation ride industry. He was actively involved in the design, transportation, and installation of a variety of theme park rides that brought joy to millions of people around the world. Jim later used his entrepreneurial skills to invent and sell a sustainable household product. Jim was an active member of the Catholic Church and his faith was a very important part of his life. He regularly attended services at both Sacred Heart and St. John XXIII churches and enjoyed sharing the love of his faith with his family. Over the last ten years, Jim and Stephanie spent time touring the country in their RV van in search of adventure and new sights. 

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Stephanie, daughters Michelle (Alan) Reisch and Jillian Rios, grandchildren Aaron Enslow, Tony Rios, Allie Rios and Tanea Reisch, great-grandchildren Ethan and Emmett Enslow, brother and sister-in-law Jack and Joyce Tredinnick, brother and sister-in-law Rick and Eileen Tredinnick, sister Geraldine Brins, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Tredinnick, along with his brother Russell Tredinnick and Sister Karen De La O. 

A viewing will be held on May 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Upland Chapel and a funeral mass will be held on May 15 th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John XXIII, followed by military honors at Riverside National Cemetery.
