Lovaas, Judith R.

Judith R. Lovaas, age 88, of Dodgeville, died on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Crest Ridge Assisted Living in Dodgeville.

Judy spent much of her childhood at her grandparent’s farm, which gave her a deep appreciation for rural farm life, from her enjoyment of horses to preserving the past.  She and John worked to preserve the Holcombville one-room school house adjacent to their home in Bull Valley, IL.

It was her love of nature that led her and John to move to rural Wisconsin and settle in rural Dodgeville, WI where she worked to preserve the prairies and oak savannah forest on their land while admiring the rocky bluffs and wandering opossums.  Judy was known for her work to help the bluebirds thrive, cleaning the many houses around the neighborhood. She loved animals, especially her many dogs. 

Judy felt fortunate and appreciated her time at CrestRidge Senior Living, she was known for her many opossums around her room.  The staff was friendly and caring and she liked the food.

She is survived by her son, Mons John Lovaas IV and her very best friend, Sharon Shea.  She is preceded in death by her husband, (Mons) John and her son Andrew.   

Per Judy’s wishes, there will be no services.
