Fortney, Judith (Judy) Patricia Blum

Judith (Judy) Patricia Blum Fortney, age 77, of Dodgeville passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024. Judy was born on May 13, 1946, Mother's Day, in Chicago, Illinois. Judy graduated from Viroqua High School in 1964. In 1965 Judy married Rodney “Rod”. The young couple moved to Dodgeville where she lived for 54years. Judy and Rod raised their children: Jill, Troy, and Brad with love and devotion in Dodgeville.

Judy worked as an administrative assistant at Dodgeville High School and then at Lands' End for 27 years. Judy was the happiest when she was outside golfing, shopping for antiques or cruising the countryside with the top down. When not outside she would watch the Badgers and basketball was her favorite sport to watch.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband Rod. She is survived by her children: Jill (Randy Nielsen), Troy (Meg), Brad (Kristen) grandchildren: Tyler, Rachel, Owen, and Arlo.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. There will be a luncheon at Grace Lutheran Church following the services.
