Schmidt-Way sentenced to 20 years

Philip Schmidt-Way appeared in Iowa County Court Tuesday afternoon and was sentenced by Judge Craig Day to life in prison, but will be eligible for extended supervision in 20 years.  Schmidt-Way was given credit for 487 days served.  Schmidt-Way and his father, Aric Way, were convicted in December of 2023 of first-degree intentional homicide in the July 2021 death of their grandmother and mother, Diana Way. 

Aric Way was sentenced back in February to life in prison without the possibility of release....
