Pecatonica Honors Jim Strommen with Field Dedication

It was Dedication Day on Sunday, June 16th for the man who defined Dedication at Pecatonica, Jim Strommen, who touched the lives of many players, coaches, teammates and parents in his 43 years as the Pecatonica Varsity Boys Head Baseball Coach. 

The 1:00 p.m. ceremony was held in front of home plate at McKellar Park in front of a large crowd at the Annual Father’s Day Chicken BBQ in Blanchardville before the Hollandale vs. Blanchardville Home Talent Game.  On this day, the baseball field became Jim Strommen Field.  

Jim is a 1972 graduate of Pecatonica High School, was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball, and baseball, and has worn many hats at Pecatonica.  He has coached Little League, Pony League, and Babe Ruth.  He coached football and retired from teaching nine years ago and as the school's athletic director five years ago.  He continues to coach baseball and at the start of the 2024 season, his record was 646-225...
