Sandra Jean Lewellyn, 68, of Platteville, formerly of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, died on Friday, July 5, 2024, at her home of natural causes. Sandra was born on October 31, 1955, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Norman and Marilyn Jean (Thompson) Johnson.
Sandra was united in marriage to Ron James in 1974 and later to Timothy Lewellyn in 1989. As a young lady she was a Candy Striper at the Dodgeville General Hospital, she also worked at the Dahl Pharmacy in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Later she owned and operated the Eaten Haus in Loganville, Wisconsin. Sandra was gifted with a green thumb working in flower shops and garden centers. She was also active in the Shake Rag Theatre group in Mineral Point for many years. Sandra was a collector of angel memorabilia, from jewelry to statues to wall and window adornments. She is now with the angels.
She is survived by her father, Norman Johnson; children, Christopher James, Cori (Denny McCool) James, Dylan (Katrina) Lewellyn; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff Theising) James, Derek (Tessa) Deitrich, and Ethan McCool; great-grandchildren, Marlee Theising; sisters, Shari (Dan) Bates, Mary Brown, and Marsha (Scott) Day; brothers, Dallas Johnson, Dan Johnson, and Marshall (Julie) Johnson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn, grandson, Sawyer Deitrich, brother, Dale and sister-in-law, Karyle Johnson. Sandi was beloved by family and friends, her warmth and kindheartedness will be missed by those honored to have known her.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service scheduled for 1:30 pm on August 3rd at the Point Baptist Church on 949 Fountain St, Mineral Point.
