Thompson, Joyce Ann (Enloe)



Joyce Ann (Enloe) Thompson age 96 of Barneveld passed away on July 16, 2024 at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.  

She was born June 15, 1928 in the town of Belmont, in Lafayette County Wisconsin to her parents Raymond and Ruth (Riter) Enloe. Her family later moved to the Blue Mounds area. Joyce graduated with the class of 1946 from Mt. Horeb High School. On June 22, 1947 she was united in marriage to T. Raymond Thompson at Barneveld Lutheran Church.  In their early years of marriage Ray and Joyce farmed the family farm where they resided for 36 years and raised their four children. They built a new home in town and moved into it 9 months before the Barneveld Tornado, their home was spared in the storm.

She loved to travel and especially enjoyed their trips to Canada, Alaska, New Zealand, and Australia. She was a member of Barneveld Lutheran Church, its Women of the ELCA and Rachel Circle for many years. Her greatest treasures were her family and grandchildren. She never turned down a chance to babysit whether it required a trip to Florida or the Eau Claire area (Mondovi). In later years the great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren brought her great joy. She enjoyed working on her lawn.

Joyce is survived by her daughter-in-law Judy Thompson of Mondovi, Ted (Marcia) Thompson of Barneveld, Lynn (Tim) Lauffer of Colfax, her son-in-law Rev. Matthew Dollhausen of Milton, FL; her grandchildren Heather Thompson, Scott (Shawna) Thompson, Theresa (Nick) Strand, Benjamin Dollhausen, Zachary Dollhausen, Seth Dollhausen, Leon (Alisa) Mc Intosh, Krista Quick, Kyle (Karlee) Thompson, Nicole Lauffer, Lance (Jenna) Lauffer, Kari (Jaren) Pilling; 24 Great grandchildren Anthony (Savanna), Brett (Courtney), Ashlyn, Olivia, Kayden, Emily, Bella, Colby, Colt, Margaret (Maggie), Leyton, Liam, Kyson, Kooper, Kian, Koleson, Sol, Harvest, Rye, Granger, Neli, Brandt, Abram, Alessandra; 6 Great- great grandchildren Sophia, Alayna, Mara, Ella, Bria, Carter. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Boe of Longmont, Colorado and Charlotte Erickson of Las Vegas, Nevada as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond in 2000, her daughter Rhonda Dollhausen in 2009, her son Dennis Thompson July 8, 2024; her sister Betty Gilbertson, her brothers Clarence Enloe and Donald Enloe.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at BARNEVELD LUTHERAN CHURCH. A visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial followed in the West Blue Mounds Cemetery.

Memorials can be given to Upland Hills Health Foundation toward the planned senior living campus in Dodgeville that will include a 63-bed assisted living center, offering both one-assist and two-assist (high needs) care.
