Kristine Fingerson, age 49, of Highland, our sweet, kind, loving and quiet sister, passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, July 1, 2024, following a short battle with ovarian cancer.
Words cannot describe the heartbreak when a part of you has been taken. Kristine sought to live and let live, never seeking to impart pain or negativity upon anyone. Kris was born April 13, 1975, in Dodgeville, WI, the fourth child of Doug and Judy Fingerson, and grew up on the family farm. Kristine was a joyful smorgasbord of fun, especially with older siblings leading the way. Kris attended Dodgeville public schools, graduating from Dodgeville High School in 1993.
She continued to work on the farm throughout high school and after, managing the care of calves and yearlings. The time came for a change and she moved off the farm and began working at Menard's in Madison, WI for more than 10 years. In time she moved in with her sister and brother-in-law, and their children, where "Aunt Kris" gave her time to them whenever needed, and loved spoiling her nieces and nephew. It came time to move on from Menard's, and Kristine began working locally, at Land's End. She eventually moved back to the farm and helped care for her mother who was ailing from Alzheimer's. After her mother's passing in 2019, Kristine eventually began her final career, working at Kwik Trip, while continuing to help on the farm.
Kristine's dog, "Chewy", was her loyal bud, faithfully at her side until her passing.
Kristine was preceded in death by her mother, Judy; her grandparents: Herbert and Sylvia Fingerson, and Melvin "Sonny" and Helen Sommerville; and other family.
Kris is survived by her father, Doug, of Highland; three siblings: Keith (Davina) Fingerson of Columbus; James Fingerson of Madison; Marcia Loy of Highland; and brother-in-law Marc Loy of Dodgeville; five nieces and nephews: Faith (Connor) Harbour, Ethan, and Kenadi Loy; Olivia Fingerson and Hannah and Rebekah Fingerson; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
As we weep for our loss, into His arms she is welcomed with unconditional, unending, forever love as her mother and father who created her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville, beginning at 5:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm until the time of service. Online condolences may be made at www.houckfuneralhomes.com
