Walsh, Elizabeth (Betty) Anne



Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Walsh passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 surrounded by her six loving daughters.

Betty was born on June 14, 1941, to Gerald and Marian (Graber) Carey. She married Tom Walsh in Mineral Point on January 16, 1960. Together they were the parents of six daughters and one son. They farmed near Hollandale for several years before moving to Mineral Point in 1990.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, playing cards, reading books, and an occasional trip to the casino. Betty was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed playing the organ at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hollandale and playing taps on Memorial Day for the Mineral Point American Legion Post 170. Before retirement, Betty worked at several locations, most recently ADRC and Lands’ End.

Survivors include her daughters Keri (Kevin) Retallick, Glen Haven; Susan (Charles) Schriber, Hollandale; Cheryl (Tom) Fritsch, Dodgeville; Teri Lynn (Ty) Prondzinski, Shawnee Mission, KS; Jodi (Dale) Quam, Bettendorf, IA; and Michelle (Trent) Heins, Mineral Point. Grandchildren: Keela (Chris) Trennepohl, Kelsi Retallick, Kelli (Jordan) Retallick-Riley, Taylor (Emily) Fritsch, Bailey Fritsch, Paige (Charles) Walde, Brooke (Trent Mead) Prondzinski , Trevor Prondzinski, Tommy Prondzinski, Mara Quam, Maci Quam, Carson Heins. Great-grandchildren: Maroska & Kort Trennepohl and Julia Fritsch. In addition, she is survived by her loving sisters Colleen (Kevin) Zimmerman, Carolyn (Steve) Argall and brother Mike (Freda) Carey as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, son, Timothy, granddaughter, Jordan, her parents Gerald and Marian, and in-laws Vincent and Elizabeth Walsh as well as her brothers Jerry and Pat Carey and brothers and sister in-laws: Jim Walsh, Jerry (Jeannine) Walsh, and Charles (Peggy) Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Friday at the church. Inurnment will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
