Blank, Shirley J.

Shirley J. Blank, 88 of Madison, Wisconsin, died on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Park Place, Platteville, Wisconsin. Shirley was born on June 25, 1935 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harvey and Berniece (Schackley) Skews. She graduated from Mineral Point High School and attended Madison Business College. On September 13, 1973, she was united in marriage to Robert Louis Blank in Madison. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2008.

Shirley worked along side her husband, Bob, in his realty and construction business. She was very active in many organizations, the Madison Builder's Association, the Realtor's Association and the Four Lakes Yacht Club, to name a few. Shirley loved to travel, enjoyed socializing, was a wonderful cook and was a very creative person.

Shirley is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol (Richard) Long, Denny (Michelle) Benson, Jerry (Sherrie) Benson, Terri (Kevin Wyss) Benson, Greg Holmes, Judy Holmes, Victoria Holmes, Billy Holmes and Bobbi Jo DePauw and step-daughter Tana Parkinson and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Marilyn Holcomb and Dena Holmes, niece Jennifer Benson and nephew Dale Benson.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, WI. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Madison, at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of service. The family asked that you stay for a bite to eat and share your memories about Shirley.
