Dodgers use early run to win big over Shullsburg

Every girl in uniform for the Dodgeville girls basketball team scored when the Dodgers drilled Shullsburg 71-35 in a non-conference game Monday.

McKenna Reilly led the Dodgers with 17 points with Maggie White putting in 13, Marley Busch 11 and Lilly Wiegel 10.

It was a close game for the first six minutes and was tied at 8-8 with 12:12 to play. But the Dodgers went on a 16 point run and eased into halftime leading 41-17.

Reilly drilled a pair of three pointers and White scored three times on a steal and two shots from close in for six each and 12 of the 16 in the run. Busch started the run scoring on a drive and Wiegel hit a jumper in the lane for the run total.

Reilly led the surge after intermission with 13 points and was one of eight Dodgers who scored and put the game away.

The win raised the Dodgers to a 10-5 season mark. They travel to River Valley Friday.

Shullsburg is 5-11 and host Belmont Friday.

Dodgeville’s Tuesday game was postponed due to an officials shortage and will be made up later.
