John R. Fieldhouse passed from this world on January 11, 2024. He was 77 years old.
John was born in Madison, WI on March 26, 1946 to James and Bernice (Flora) Fieldhouse.
He graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1964.
He married Mary Yelk on April 30, 1966 and they had 57 good years together. He joined the Navy in 1966 and served until his retirement in 1991.
After the Navy he had a flea market shop in Florida followed by a store called Fishin Stuff where he sold bait and tackle and did intricate repairs to rods and reels used in fresh and salt water fishing.
John is survived by his wife, Mary, two children: Wayne of Tampa, FL, and Sheila Amick of Brooksville, FL. He is further survived by grandchildren; Shawn (Linda) Fieldhouse, Joshua (Destiny) Fieldhouse, Tiffany Fieldhouse, Heather Amick and Kyle Amick. He is also survived by his sister Jean (Tom) Weinbrenner, niece Barbara, and great nephew, Josh all of Dodgeville.
John enjoyed being a handyman and was very good at any work he attempted.
He will be remembered by the family as a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be remembered as a great dancer by his classmates.
John’s ashes will be scattered in a garden in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later date.
