Baker, Lester

Lester Baker, 93, of Arena, Wisconsin went to be with his Lord and Saviour on January 9, 2024 after a brief illness. Lester was born in Arena, Wisconsin to Lyle and Myrtle (Gladdem) Baker on August 31, 1930.

Lester married Dorothy Roberts on February 17, 1951 celebrating 73 years of marriage. 

Lester served in the Infantry division of the Army in Korea with the rank of Sargent, He returned home to farm which he loved.

Lester is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Frank Baker, Carol (Rick) Roll, and Leslie Baker; grandchildren, Todd Baker, Tristan Backer, Meaghan (Eidee) Chavez Baker, Dylan Roll, Courtney Roll, Kole Boe, Christopher (Trisha) Greene; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Collins, Lola Greene, and Wyatt Greene. 

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Myrtle Baker; brothers, Joe Baker, Dick Baker; sister, Ruby (Harold) Noyce.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Arena Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ewing-Olson VFW Post #9336. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Many thanks to VA Hospital staff, Greenway Manor for the outstanding love and concern for Lester. They went beyond the call of duty.
