Lawinger, Clara Ruth (Tourdot)



Clara Ruth (Tourdot) Lawinger, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Reedsburg, WI, at the age of 91. Clara was born on September 24, 1932 to August and Florence (Kaldenberg) Tourdot in Reedsburg. She married Donald R. Lawinger. They farmed and raised their family in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She then moved to Madison where she worked in housekeeping for Madison General Hospital and UW Hospital until her retirement.

Clara is survived by her children: Jean (Vicky) Hoover, Dale (Sally) Lawinger, Dwayne (Cathy) Lawinger, Marsha (David) Haglund, Paul Lawinger, Donald (Anne) Lawinger, Victoria (Rick) Gunther, Maraline (Kelly) Collins, Linda (Mark) Kingston, Norbert (Mary) Lawinger; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by her sister, Evelyn (Ed) Bulin; brother, Robert (Donna) Tourdot; sisters-in-law: Pat Tourdot, Mary Jo Tourdot, and Ann Weier; brothers-in-law, John Wagner and Wallace Bradley; and as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; mother and father-in-law: Henry (May) Lawinger; grandson: Omnipotant Brown; granddaughter Jedidiah Brown; and great-grandson Resdual Brown; brothers, George (Mary), Edward, Charles (Mary) Tourdot, and Joseph Tourdot; sisters, Helen (Francis) Kaul, Mary (Donald) Gallagher, Ann Wagner, Jeanette (Harvey) Stieve, and Florence Bradley; and brothers-in-law, Alvin Weier, and Bernard Lawinger

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg. The Reverend Michael Lawinger, Associate Pastor of Christ King Catholic Church of Wauwatosa, was the celebrant. Burial in Calvary Cemetery in Reedsburg.

Clara’s life was driven by her Catholic faith and has expressed that masses and prayers be offered in her name.
