Jeffrey Robert McGuire, age 63 of Highland, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at UW Hospital in Madison with his family by his side after a courageous year and a half battle with esophageal cancer.
Jeff was born on May 26, 1961, in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Patrick and Patricia (Eggers) McGuire. He graduated from Highland High School in 1979. Jeff started working in the family construction business at a young age. He was driving equipment at the age of 4. Jeff was a master plumber in two states and became a partner in the business in 2008.
Jeff was united in marriage to Julie Clifton on July 20, 1985, at the Montfort United Methodist Church. They were blessed with four wonderful sons.
Jeff had many passions in his life, including camping, boating, deer hunting, attending country festivals, and spending time with family and friends. His main passion was his family and his beloved granddaughters. He spent many hours with them making wonderful memories. In February, Jeff and Julie and their family spent a vacation together at Indian Rocks Beach, FL where many wonderful memories were created. Jeff will be remembered for his laugh, his stories and his big hugs.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Frances McGuire and Raymond and Catherine Eggers and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Lewis.
Jeff is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Julie; four sons, Shawn (Sienna) of Platteville, Shane (Cassie) of Waldwick, Robert (Madelyn) of Lancaster and Riley of Highland; two granddaughters, Nola and Willa; two brothers, Gary (Jill) and Alan and one sister, Sandra (Patrick) Brunker; father and mother, Patrick and Patricia McGuire; father and mother-in-law, LaVerne and Lois Clifton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe (Alice) Clifton, Jim (Sarah) Clifton and Jane Lewis and several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Montfort. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. on Friday at the church prior to the service. The McGuire-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home is assisting the family.
