New business manager hired, other Barneveld School Board news

The Barneveld School Board in closed session approved the Business Manager hire for Alyssa Arneson who will take over the position late in January 2025. Arneson replaces Jean Flannery who, after 25 years, is retiring from the school district.
Superintendent Robyn Oberfoell recognized Flannery at the meeting. “The role of Business Manager is year-round and instrumental to the stability and future of a school district. Jean has been commended by our auditors and financial partners for her ability to budget, forecast, and maintain the school district finances. On behalf of the administration, school board, and staff, we wish Jean a wonderful retirement and best wishes for her growing family and future adventures,” she said.
Public Participation
High School Teacher Duane Draper suggested the consideration of adding a Fine Arts Facility to the Capital Plan for future planning, and the Director of Building Grounds and Maintenance asked the board to consider purchasing a truck or UTV for the district’s needs.
