Cushman, Sharon Kay



Sharon Kay Cushman age 82 of Stoughton, Wisconsin passed away on December 15, 2024 at Stoughton Meadows. She was born on January 7, 1942 in Mineral Point, to the late Raymond and Gwendolyn Conwell. Sharon grew up in the Mineral Point area where she met her late husband of 58 years, Richard “Dick” Cushman. Sharon loved to travel with her husband in their fifth wheel to Texas to escape the long cold Wisconsin winters. She was also a huge NASCAR and country music fan. Her greatest companions other than Dick were her Yorkies. Sharon grew up in Mineral Point before moving to Kenosha in 1975, Kokomo, Indiana in 1993, to Blue Mounds in 2003 and finally to Stoughton to be near family.

Sharon is survived by her three children Debra (Ron) Christianson, Stoughton; Richard (Lori) Cushman, Verona, Scott (Voula Mihos) Cushman, Milwaukee; her five grandchildren, Kelly Christianson, Chad (Jenny) Christianson, Daniel (Dawn) Christianson, Blake (Lida) Cushman and Kyle (Zoie Kloida) Cushman. Also her three great grandchildren, Breanna and Jacob Christianson and Caleb Nelson. Sharon was proceeded in death by her husband Dick in 2017, her parents and her siblings Maxine Nelson, Connie Mohlman and Larry Conwell as well as her grandson Ryan Christianson.

The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice and the staff at Stoughton Meadows for care and compassion they provided Sharon in her final months on this earth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the Gorgen Funeral Home.  A family burial will be held at a later date in Graceland Cemetery.
