Barneveld’s steals, strong defense leads to 63-12 win
Barneveld’s girls basketball team limited visiting Juda to two points for most of the first half then went on to hand the Panthers a 63-12 setback in a Six River East game Thursday.
The Golden Eagles were able to use the entire roster in the one sided contest. They held the Panthers out of double figures both halves.
Bryn Meyer had 10 points the first half and Tatum Thousand eight to help the Eagles to a 36-7 halftime lead. Seven girls scored the first 18 minutes.
“We had 21 steals and forced 11 turnovers which was the difference in the game,” said coach Jim Myers. “Our defense was strong the whole game. We had four in double figures and eight scored.
Tatum Thousand came off the bench to contribute 14 Bryn Meyer led with 15. Izzy Durst and Kaylie Oimien had 10 each
“It was a good overall game,” Myers said.
