Jones, Hugh Wickham

Hugh Wickham Jones, 90, of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home on November 27, 2024. He was born on May 4, 1934, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the youngest of three children of Arthur R. Jones and Hazel Lewis Jones.

 Hugh graduated from Dodgeville High School and went on to earn a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1957. That same year, he married Eileen Teresa Runde of Darlington, Wisconsin, beginning a partnership that would span 67 years. Together, they raised three children: Rob Lewis Jones of Houston, Texas (wife Marianne), and Hugh William Jones of Dallas, Texas (wife Marie). Their son, Mark Runde Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, predeceased him in April 2013.

A dedicated professional, Hugh worked for Graber Industries in sales for over 40 years, during which he lived in Detroit, San Francisco, Dallas, and Middleton. He retired in 2000 and spent his later years dividing his time between Middleton and Galveston, Texas, where he and Eileen enjoyed golf, travel, and reading. 

Hugh is survived by his wife Eileen, their two sons, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held on December 14, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at the Eastside Cemetery in Dodgeville, followed by a celebration of life at the Red Room in Dodgeville.
