Reynolds, Dennis J.

Dennis J. Reynolds, age 59, of Dodgeville, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 after a short hard fought battle with cancer.

Dennis was born on February 20, 1965 to Myron “Mike” and Ruth Ann Reynolds. He was born, raised and lived his entire life in Dodgeville, this was his home where he lived and died.

Dennis was a 1983 graduate of Dodgeville High School. After high school, he began working as a mason tender with his father and eventually became a bricklayer where they worked side by side for many years. After his dad’s retirement, he continued the masonry profession by going on his own and eventually working with our son, Shane, showing him the tricks of the trade.

One Friday the 13th in 1984, Dennis met his future wife Michelle over a pool game where he ran the table on her. He later asked her that night to be his pool partner and they were together every day since that night.

Anyone that knew Dennis knew his love for the great outdoors, hunting, trapping and fishing and having a lot of big bucks mounted on the wall. But Dennis had one greater love and that was his family, his motto was…no matter what, you take care of your family first and the rest will take care of itself.

Dennis is survived by his wife Michelle; their children Shane Reynolds of Dodgeville and Tori (Charles) Trace of Platteville; eight beautiful grandchildren Kylin, Hadlee, Remington, Violet and Ezmae Reynolds, and Raven, Lark and Croy Trace; his mother Ruth Ann Reynolds of Dodgeville; his brothers Jeff “JR” (Cheryl) Reynolds of Ridgeway, Steve “Doog” Reynolds of Dodgeville and Bruce “Duck” Reynolds of Dodgeville; a brother-in-law Mark Mathews of Edmund; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Myron Reynolds, his in-laws Larry and Marilyn Mathews, his grandparents Harvey and Geneva Reynolds and Aldro and Rose Martin.

A visitation will be held for family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. A private family cremation burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials to the family are appreciated.
