A look at why a referendum for Dodgeville schools
After a survey and a series of meetings the Dodgeville School Board will be asking taxpayers to approve a $2.99 million operating referendum when they go to the polls for the November 5 election.
The board’s study showed them that $3.1 million would allow the district to maintain operation without further adjustments or cuts. The survey, however, showed the respondents would consider approving something less than that. The board went back to work and landed on $2.99 million.
Why $2.99 million
Several different referendum amounts were considered and surveyed. The results were:
