Rikli, Mary E.



Mary E. Rikli, age 82, of Dodgeville, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Crest Ridge Assisted Living in Dodgeville.

She was born on August 5, 1942 in Dodgeville, a daughter of the late William and Jeanette Cerutti. She graduated from Dodgeville High School and on November 24, 1962, she married Bill Rikli at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dodgeville.

Mary worked at Memorial Hospital of Iowa County as a surgical tech and at UW Health as a Patient Accounts Representative. Mary was an accomplished musician and abundantly shared her talents as the organist for many years at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed her retirement socializing over coffee, wine or lunch with several friend groups.

Mary is survived by her children Sue (Nate) Kaber of Madison, Scott Rikli of Windsor, Colorado, Mark Rikli of Dodgeville and Angie (Chuck) Risler of Madison; her grandchildren Paige Kaber, Brett (McKayla) Kaber, Thomas Rikli, Miles Obiera, JR Obiera, Alex (Mason) Parks, McKenzie (Jonathan Hefty) Rundle, Maddie (Erick) Barcenas-Lopez, Andy (Rachel) Risler, Austin Risler; her great grandchildren Brody and Brinlee Haas, Brooks Kaber, Kenzo Obiera, Arlo Parks, Rowen Risler, Colt Risler and Emilio Barcenas-Lopez (arriving in October); her siblings Nat (Pat) Cerutti, Toni (Kim Tredinnick), Connie (Jeff) Metters, Cookie (Doug Ries) Kress, Bill (Linda) Cerutti and Mike (Jane) Cerutti; her sisters-in-law Betty (Bob) Kraemer and Judy Speth; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rikli, her parents Bill and Jeanette Cerutti, infant sister Theresa, her in-laws Herman and Pauline Rikli and her brother-in-law Jerry Speth.

The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to Crest Ridge Senior Living, Agrace Hospice and Dr. Gary Grunow for the wonderful care provided to our mom.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Joseph’s School or Agrace Hospice.
