Weier, Margaret Josephine

Margaret Josephine Weier, age 97, of Dodgeville, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Sienna Crest Home.

Jo was born on December 25, 1926 in Edmund, WI to Clyde and Minnie (Vestrum) Tremelling. She was a 1944 graduate of Dodgeville High School. She married William Lawrence Weier on February 10, 1948 in Mineral Point WI. They farmed in the Ridgeway township for fifty years with Jo moving to Dodgeville after Bill's death in 1999.

Jo was known for her dedication to the raising of her family and fondly remembered for her Sunday noon meals. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles, watching the Packers and Badgers, travel to western states and visiting with friends and family. Jo's quick wit and sharp tongue always kept you on your toes and made you smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; four brothers, Clifford, Milo (Alice) LeRoy (Catherine), and Elmo Tremelling. Six sisters Ivanell (Milo) Stephens, Marcella (Jiggs) Pascoe, Stella (Andy) Coffey, Mary (Dean) Reed, Joyce (Clifford) Burgess, Lois (Melvin) Anderson.

Jo is survived by her three sons, Greg (Lois) Dodgeville, Scott (Karen) Prairie du Chien, Doug (JoEllen), Hammett ID; two daughters, Diane (Steve) Galle, Aurora IL, Vicki (Mark) Fenley, Omaha NE; Eleven Grandchildren and Fifteen Great Grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Dodgeville. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church.
