Dodge-Point soccer records three wins
Dodge-Point soccer coach Kyle Glynn feels his team is on the right track at the moment.
The D/P squad turned in three straight wins, taking down Mauston 5-0, Jefferson 5-1 and Cambridge/Deerfield 2-1.
“I am very happy with the results in our last three outings,” Glynn said. “We are starting to gel.”
Mauston
Clayton Solberg-Kieler scored first for Dodge-Point in the Mauston win. His score came at 36:59 with an assist from Bryce Grolbert.
The D/P squad added four more scores the second half. John McGraw kicked in two of them at 55:41 and 58:31, the second with an assist from Brodie Miller. Aiden Sersch also scored with his coming at 56:51 with an assist by McGraw. Nolen Fox finished with an assist from Tyce Sylvester at the 68:02 mark.
Jake Scheckel had two saves in the goal.
Jefferson
Dodge-Point opened their match with Jefferson with a goalie kick from Scheckel that McGraw took in for a score at 21:00.
Ben Haakenson followed with a goal at 39:30 for a 2-0 first half lead.
Jefferson scored first to open the second half but the rest was all Dodge-Point. McGraw got an assist from Zach Rochon and scored at 48:44. He followed that with a score at 66:40 with help from Gavin Houtakker. The Sylvester/Fox combo got their last goal at 69:45.
Scheckel deflected three shots on goal.
Cambridge/Deerfield
McGraw accounted for both goals in the win over the Cambridge/Deerfield co-op. He scored the first one at 65:56 of the first half with an assist from Damon Marr. That tied the match going into the half.
He kicked the game winner into the left side of the net at the 77:11 mark on a penalty kick.
Scheckel had seven saves in the goal.
That gave the D/P squad a 3-0 record for the week.
