Rosenkranz, Gisela
Gisela Rosenkranz, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at Renaissance Senor Living. She was born on April 21, 1939, in Munich, Germany, the daughter of George and Martha Absneier.
Gisela met Roland Rosenkranz in Germany, where he was stationed in the U.S. Army; they married on Feb. 14, 1961, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage. She was blessed to have had an absolutely amazing circle of friends with whom she shared countless experiences and memories.
Over the course of Gisela’s lifetime, she loved to be in the service of others. First and foremost, to her son, Neil, whose care meant a lifetime of dedication. Later in life, she took great pleasure in being a companion and friend to those in her assisted living community. Always the stern exterior, masking a warm and giving heart.
Gisela is survived by her sons, Roland (Jean) Rosenkranz Jr. and Neil Rosenkranz; sister, Helga (Ben) Colcol; grandchild, Addisen Carson; and great-grandchild, Cooper Carson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Roland Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 South Owen Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. Burial will be held later at Highland Public Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.
