Thomas F. J. Forbes

Thomas F. J. Forbes, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Lancaster Health Services.  He was born in Dodgeville on March 5, 1936 the son of Lloyd and Mary Catherine (Duncan) Forbes.  He graduated from Dodgeville High School.  Tom served in the Air Force with the Military Police.  He married Patricia Ann (Ludlum) Graber on July 15, 1995 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Point.  He worked in the shipping and receiving department at Twin Disc in Racine, WI.  Tom enjoyed golfing, was a season ticket holder for Badger Football and loved the Packers.  

Tom is survived by his wife Pat Forbes, a son Scott (Theresa) Forbes, a daughter Susan (Saul) Forbes-Rodriguez, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 stepchildren, 8 step-grandkids, 13 step-great grandkids, his sister Alice Markgraf and sister-in-law Karen Forbes and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather John Hendrickson, his brother Jim Forbes, his sister Mary Tibbits, brother-in-laws Don "Moose" Markgraf and Kenny Tibbits and a grandson Kevin Nielsen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Ss. Mary & Paul Catholic Church in Mineral Point.  Fr. Tafadzwa Kushamba will officiate.  Military graveside Rites will be accorded by the Mineral Point American Legion Post #170 and VFW at St. Mary's Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers memorials to Upland Hills Hospice, Hodan Center, Mineral Point Rescue Squad or the Mineral Point Fire Department would be appreciated.
