Althea M. Gollon, age 84, of Dodgeville, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at her home, blessed to be surrounded by her loving family.
Althea was born on December 12, 1938 in Stevens Point, a daughter of Clarance and Evelyn (Dulek) Repinski. She attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School in Stevens Point. On August 23, 1958, she married David “Bud” Gollon in Glendive, Montana. They settled in the town of Dodgeville, where they raised their family and started Gollon Bait and Fish Farm.
Althea chose to stay home and raise her five children, while supporting Bud and the family business. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors, gardening, cooking, canning and freezing all her homegrown vegetables and playing with her grandchildren, who had a very special place in her heart. She was truly the grandma everyone wishes they had. You never went to her house without being offered a home cooked meal or cookies from her cookie jar.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Althea is survived by her children David (Susan) Gollon, Audrey (Ted) Moellers, Timothy (Larc) Gollon, Amanda (Don) Schultz, Michael (Autume) Gollon; 18 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her sisters Loretta and Shirley; her brothers James, Charles and Robert; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years David, her parents, her sister Margaret and Mary, her brothers Maurice and Richard and two grandchildren (Audrey).
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Burial was held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
