I-G Board sets tax levy

The Iowa-Grant School District board of education held a special meeting on October 23 to set the tax levy for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30.

The board adopted a resolution to set a levy of $2,557,561 for the operation of the general fund; and $15,000 for the community services fund. In addition, the board took action to borrow $800,000 at a rate of 4.95% to be pay back on or before June 30, 2024, from Community First Bank for the purpose of cash flow management. 

In personnel related action, the board accepted a resignation from Annette Carroll from the middle school track coach position and was provided with a series of board policy updates for review at a subsequent board meeting. 

After convening and returning from a closed session, the board took action to approve Craig Jenkins as the JV Girls Basketball Coach and Makayla Loeffelholz as the 7th grade girls basketball coach.
