Norton, Gerald F.
He was born on April 1, 1941 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dodgeville, to Grant and Bernadine (Kelly) Norton. On April 13, 1941, he was christened Jerry at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hollandale and was also confirmed at St. Patrick's.
G attended elementary school in Hollandale, transferring to Durkin country school when the family moved to the Kelly farm. It was here a teacher began calling him Gerald to distinguish between two "Jerrys" in the school he attended high school in Hollandale, graduating with the class of 1959.
G worked his entire life as a farmer on the farm where he grew up and loved farming with his father, then is son. He was a longtime member of the Hollandale Fire Dept., the Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan. He liked playing cards and riding his Ranger around the farm.
Gerald is survived by his daughter Marla (Jason Watling); his son Jeremy; his siblings Rollie (Karel), Rita (Marvin), Kathleen (Kenneth); many nieces and nephews and his special neighbors Stan and Robin Peterson.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until ??? on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at STROZ INN in Hollandale. Private family inurnment will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Upland Hills Dialysis Center, the staffs at Upland Hills Health and U.W. Hospital for their care of dad.
