Don't Skip the Wisconsin Supreme Court Primary!

Dear Editor,
The primary for the Supreme Court of Wisconsin (SCOW) is February 21st. This is an important election as it will determine the candidates on the general election ballot in April. In a nonpartisan race, it is possible for 2 conservatives or 2 progressives to end up on the April ballot which then limits voter choice. The ideological makeup of the court is at stake. With important issues to come before SCOW in 2023, this ideological makeup will determine what is and is not legal in Wisconsin with regards to things like voting rights, women's rights to reproductive health care, local control of taxes, safety from gun violence and the potential to end gerrymandering. You can learn about the candidates at https://ballotpedia.org/Wisconsin_Supreme_Court_elections,_2023.
There are four candidates running - 2 conservatives and 2 progressives. The top two vote getters will be on the ballot for the general election April 4th. Voter turnout in these elections is notoriously low - less than 20%. The next election for Supreme Court Justice in Wisconsin will be in 2026. Don't let others make this decision for you. Learn about the candidates and vote February 21st!
