Dodgers score in bunches to take down Hornets

After taking a 4-3 lead four minutes into the first half the Dodgeville girls basketball team served notice they were going to make it a long night for host Richland Center in a SWC game Friday.
At the 12 minute mark McKenna Reilly scored on a drive then three seconds later Marley Busch scored from underneath the basket. Reilly followed a minute later with another drive and suddenly the Dodgers were ahead 10-5.
After a basket by the Hornets from Chloe Darling the Dodgers took off again. Reilly drained a three pointer, Bush followed with a basket from close range and Reilly followed with a score on a drive for a 17-11 lead.
Next came another run with a move in the middle from Maggie White, another Busch basket and a drive for a score from Lily Wiegel.
It was that way the rest of the night until the Dodgers ran away from the Hornets for a 61-37 win.
Reilly had a career night with 23 points that featured a trio of three pointers. Busch dominated the inside and followed with 15 points. Wiegel also reached double figures with 10.
Paige Keller led Richland Center with 12 points and Chloe Darling added 10.
Dodgeville moved to 6-8 on the season and 2-3 in the SWC. The Hornets are 2-13 and 1-4.
