Anne was born on December 23, 1936, to Archie Davis and Helen Sabish Davis in Madison,WI.
Anne grew up in the town of Highland WI, where as a student she won the Iowa County Spelling Bee. Anne attended Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa for two years and finished with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
While at UW, Anne met her future husband Bill Neer at a Halloween party. Anne and Bill went on to have six children: Bill (Margie Forman), Terri (Mike Huibregtse), Tim (Sharon Neer), Beth (Dave Honer), Jennifer (Mike Olig) and Peg (Dave Hoks).
Throughout the years, Anne was passionate in the purpose of making the community a better place. As the President of the League of Women Voters, Anne was active in areas of water conservation and pollution control as well as educating people about the Equal Rights Amendment. Anne was named "an Outstanding Woman in America" by the National Outstanding Americans Foundation, for "unselfish service to others, charitable activities, professional excellence, and business advancement.
Whether involved in the Perpetual prayer chapel, Wisconsin Alumni Association, Alder person City of Neenah, Future Neenah Development Corporation, Town of Neenah Park board or Blood donations to the Community Blood Center (totaling one pint shy of 6 gallons), Anne's action encouraged others to support the community through volunteer service.
Anne was a long-time realtor where she made lifelong friendships with clients, even being invited to a special client's wedding in Italy.
Anne was proceeded in death by her husband, Bill and Grandson, Jacob Mathison. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Gretchen Kelly (Kieran), Carolyn (Pedro Mogollon), Kate Neer and William Neer, Evan Mathison (Melissa Woods), Derek Mathison (Julaine Schultz) and Anne's brother, Bill Davis (Corrine).
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary's in Neenah on Friday February 10, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Neenah Animal Shelter, or the Town of Neenah Fire Department.
Anne's family would like to thank the staff of Valley VNA, Senior Helper's and Neurology unit at Theda Care Hospital for all their compassionate care.
