Search for UTV thief or thieves continues

Ridgeway Marshal Michael Gorham is still interview people concerning the recently stolen UTV and is hoping to close the case soon.

In the meantime, Gorham is asking for citizen cooperation.

“We are obtaining digital photographs from various businesses and private individuals,”Gorham says.  “We are releasing these to the public. The suspect can be seen entering the stolen vehicle. While the picture resolution is unclear, we hope someone has information regarding the individuals responsible for this crime.”

"Our agency is looking into using enhanced digital technology to identify the suspect better,” continued Gorham.  “Hopefully, this will provide a better picture of the suspect.”

On Saturday, August 6 the UTV was spotted by witnesses  as it traveled at a high rate of speed on Main Street around  7:45 p.m. The UTV then appears to have traveled north on CTH H.

On Sunday, August 7, 2023, the UTV was spotted by a witness on Dugway Road.

Marshal Gorham believes the suspect has ties to eastern Iowa County, so someone in the area may know the individual(s) responsible.

"While we have recovered the UTV and currently processing it for evidence, our mission is not done until the suspect is arrested and charges are filed,” said Gorham.  “The Ridgeway Marshal's Office is committed to serving and protecting the victim. Citizen cooperation has been tremendous, and we are appreciative as it is a team approach."
