Scrimmages are on tap for Friday Night Lights

Since August 1 area high school football teams have been have been preparing for their August 17 or 18 opener by blocking each other.

Friday they get to use their skills against other teams at their  scheduled scrimmages.

Dodgeville will travel seven miles to Mineral Point where their scrimmage partners are the Pointers and Riverdale. The scrimmage starts at 5:30 pm.

River Valley hosts Cuba City and Poynette on their turf field with action beginning at 5 p.m.

Iowa-Grant prepares for their Ridge and Valley season as they entertain Pecatonica/Argyle and Poynette. The teams start at 5 p.m.

Highland, also a Ridge and Valley member, travels to Prairie du Chien where they will see Prairie, Westby and Fennimore. Start time is 6 p.m.

Mount Horeb/Barneveld, a Badger Small team, has a 6:30 p.m. start time at Lake Mills.  Lake Mills and Evansville are also in volved in the scrimmage.
