Pirates come back to tip Knights in NL play
The Dodgeville Knights took an early 2-0 lead but could not hold on and lost a Western Section Night League game to Reedsburg 7-3 Thursday.
Tarron Bockhop walked to open the bottom of the first and Austin Larson was issued a free pass to put runners on first and second.
Sean Reilly singled up the middle to allow Bockhop to race home and Jakob Kastenholz followed with a single to plate Larson.
The Knights were then shut out by Pirates hurler Hunter Weis until the sixth when they picked up their third run. Larson received another walk and scored on a fielders choice by Grant Roh with the bases loaded.
The Knights had five hits, one each by Reilly, Jack Hellmann, Kastenholz, Roh and Josh Dressler.
Reedsburg started their comeback with a run in the second. They added four in the fourth and then pushed across single runs in the sixth and seventh.
Reilly started on the mound and went four innings, striking out three, walking two while giving up five runs on nine hits.
Kastenholz worked the last three. He fanned six, gave up six his and two runs.
The Knights finished the NL season 7-5 and had a playoff game with Arena set for Tuesday.
