Speaking of DASFI, that weekend there were several class reunions taking place. I stopped downtown at Cathryn's Market on Saturday and it was packed with several DHS grads there. The weekend had to be a boon for the area!

A longtime friend and DHS graduate, Mike Matarrese stopped in with Denny Rundle on Friday. They had a 55th class reunion Saturday. Mike lives in Oregon. His brother, Mark, who lives in Alaska, also came back for the DASFI and neither one knew the other was coming. I remember their dad Felix being a very good golfer and friends with my dad. Their mother was a school teacher.

The Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce is bringing back the "Off the Vine" Wine Walk event on Friday, October 21. It's a walk through downtown Dodgeville with stops at participating sponsors with you sampling different wines from the area. There will also be snacks at those stops. Tickets must be purchased in advance. So that people won't be driving, the walk will be at businesses located between the Dodgeville Public Library and the Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce buildings. Contact the chamber of commerce for more information or to get your tickets.

Also the chamber of commerce is hosting the annual "Trunk or Treat" event on Saturday, October 29 just outside the courthouse and Chronicle in the parking lot from 1-3 p.m. Anyone interested in participating should contact the chamber.

Saturday morning breakfast kept us close by this week because Dave Stone had a golfing engagement at Dodge Point at 8:30 a.m. So Bob, Terry, Dewey and I met him at the Red Rooster in Mineral Point. There were a bunch of families eating there during the time we were. We had just seen Wally Schwartz at the Red Room on Friday and he came into the Red Rooster after we did. Oh, and the golf thing that Dave was heading to was started by the late Larry Wagner many years ago called GLAD. Players come from all over to be part of that event too!

Thursday (today) is the first day of fall even though it has felt like fall for several days now. It is also "Ice Cream Cone Day". Now, I'm trying to figure out which one I want to celebrate the most!
