Calling All Female WWII, Korean or Vietnam Era Veterans

Dear Editor;
On Saturday, May 14, 2022, Badger Honor Flight is offering, for the first time ever, The Alice Ladwig Female Veteran Flight. The flight is designed to be an all female flight but guardians accompanying the veteran may be male or female. It will have a custom itinerary designed for female veterans. The flight departs from the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison.
If there are not enough female veterans who want to go on the trip, the remaining spaces will be opened to male veterans. There are still spaces available and it is highly preferable that those spaces be filled by women otherwise the entire concept of a female veteran oriented day of bonding and remembrance is defeated.
If you are a female WWII, Korean or Vietnam era veteran please seriously consider taking this wonderful free opportunity to make the trip to the military memorials in Washington DC. The usual $500 fee for your accompanying guardian will also be waived so no cost is involved. Please register immediately at badgerhonorflight.org and have your guardian do the same.
Those of you who know of qualified female veterans please get the word out to them and if you are between the ages of 18 and 69 perhaps you could volunteer to be their accompanying guardian. Encourage them to register immediately so the flight can be filled as quickly as possible.
I attended the 50th anniversary of the Women's Army Corps in 1992. It was a wonderful experience to be able to listen to the stories of the WWII and Korean veterans. The respect and admiration of those fabulous and pioneering women lives on today. The camaraderie shared was indescribable. Bonds were formed. Education gained was exponential. This Badger Honor Flight will be a similar life enhancing experience.
No male will ever comprehend the female veteran experience! Let's fill this flight with women only!
