Thank You For Inspiration

Dear Editor;
Even though it was 12 degrees with a "feels like" temperature in the minus numbers, over 80 people showed up for the January 21 rally for Fair Maps in front of the Dodgeville Courthouse.
I grew up in sunny Southern California and even though I have been in WI for over 40 years, I get anxious when the weather is in the teens. I finally figured out how to dress in layers but used hand warmers for the first time at the rally. So, it was inspiring to see such a turnout.
We were one of 16 WI locations to have a rally and one of the only small rural towns to participate. Our turnout numbers rivaled bigger locations. We should be very proud of our citizens paying attention and not remaining silent as the WI Supreme Court prepares to select highly gerrymandered maps which will be in effect for 10 more years!
I just found this quote..." If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality." Archbishop Desmond Tutu
There is a big foot on Wisconsin Fair Maps and voting rights in general so it was very inspiring to see so many refusing to be neutral and silenced. Thank you.
