Garthwaite, Pittz lead Dodgers past Fennimore
Dillon Garthwaite, who led the Dodgers with 24 points, scored 12 each half. Matthew Pittz was right behind with 21 scoring 10 the first half and 11 the second. The duo was responsible for six of the team's three pointers with Pittz drilling five and Garthwaite one.
The Pittz/Garthwaite duo was responsible for the surge that turned the tide for the Dodgers. They were responsible for 14 of a 15 point swing that lasted four minutes down the stretch that moved the lead from 48-45 to 62-47. Pittz tallied a pair of threes and a runner for eight points while Garthwaite had two baskets and a free throw for five points. Lacarder Walker added a free throw during the run.
Garthwaite finished the night with a dunk at 2:23 for a 20 point margin at 69-49.
Inside threat 7-0 Chandler Batchelor also reached double digits with 11.
"We were a little bit sluggish at the start but at the end of the first half and most of the second half we were able to execute better," Dodgeville coach Matt McGraw said. "We were able to push the lead to 20 with solid offensive possessions. We hit shots after making extra passes to get really good looks and finished better at the rim. Garrett Busch and Ayden Halverson did a nice job slowing down their best player. He scored about half of his average so that was a huge factor for us."
