Saturday was a busy day as the new Iowa County Law Enforcement Center held an open house that afternoon that was well attended. There were a lot of people taking the tours that were given by volunteers.

Also, Ridgeway held its Christmas Holiday celebration that had a good amount of people on the street watching the parade and taking part in the activities - that included a visit with Santa!

The Dodgeville High School play "A Christmas Story" also took place at 2:00 and then again at 7:00. It was a busy day, so I went to the 7:00 one, but got really tired by the time intermission came around, so I left. I really wished I could've stayed - it was really good! Kudos to the cast and the rest of the people who put it on - and the new auditorium is great!

Saturday will be a big Christmas day in Linden with Santa at the fire station from 3:00-5:00 and fireworks at 6:30. In Mineral Point there's a cookie, candy, etc bake sale at Keuler Insurance on High Street. Then on Sunday, at the Abundant Life Christian Center in Dodgeville, there's a Live Nativity. These are just a few things to check out around the area!

It's really early in the Winter Sports Season, but the Mineral Point Girls Basketball Team is on course for another state tournament appearance - they are really playing well! Also, the Iowa-Grant/Highland Wrestling Team won a big tournament in the Dells last weekend!

Every week I get comments like "Where are you guys going to eat this Saturday?". It's something that just a small thing about me writing about our eating breakfast can draw so much attention. We've even had people go to places we've been just because I write about or talk about them. We are going to hit number 50 soon - probably our first stop in the New Year (if places are open on New Years day! I plan to do a list in the near future!

Check out the calendar above that shows today (December 16) and Christmas Day (December 25) not too far apart!
