The Alliant Center in Madison was the place to be to see high quality wrestling Saturday and the team from Dodgeville exhibited it share.
It was the Badger State Invitational hosted by Stoughton and the Dodgers placed 11th out of 25 teams.
The Dodgers came away with two chapions as Charlie Meudt (113) and Reid Spurley (120) won their weight classes by pinning their way through the tournament.
Other place winners for the Dodgers included Blaek Foust (106) with a 4th place finish and Mason Winch with a 8th place at 160. Mason attempted to wrestle through a knee injury before injury defaulting in his 7th place match.
" I really felt that Mason was the better wrestler in each of the matches that he lost," said co-coach Ryan Lord. "We don't have any competitions until Bi-State, so I'm hopeful that he'll be back to 100% by then."
Colin Judd and Alex Pipkorn also registered wins on the day for the Dodgers.
"We've been extremely impressed with the progress Alex has made after a little more than a month of wrestling in his career," Lord said. "He is making huge improvements every time he steps on the mat and is really starting to develop some mat awareness."
Good news from the injured list-
"We are starting to get healthy.," Lord said. "Freshman Nathan Johnson has recovered from a broken leg in football and we will have him back for Bi-State. We are also expecting freshman Haakon Peterson to make his Dodger debut very soon."
