Dodgers take down cold shooting Vanguards

Dodgeville's girls basketball team shared the ball at the start of their game with Wisconsin Heights Tuesday and it paid off in a big way.
The Dodgers had five girls score in the first nine minutes to push them to a 22-7 lead. They kept up their offensive power to race past the Vanguards 63-35 in a non-conference meeting.
Maggie White had six points, Lily Wiegel five, McKenna Reilly and Marley Busch four and Zoe Swenson came off the bench to add three in the run.
Reilly ran into some foul trouble that limited her time on the court and finished with six points. Wiegel kept up her pace to lead the scoring with 18 points with Busch adding 17 and White 16.
The halftime difference was 43-19. It ended in a flourish with three straight three pointers in the last three minutes as Wiegel hit a three and Busch two in back to back to back fashion.
The pace was slower the second half but the Vanguards never found their shooting eye. They missed 16 of 22 free throws along with numerous shots around the basket.
Next action for the Dodgers is December 6 at Oregon.
