Grateful for Governor's vetoes

Dear Editor;
I read with interest the letter from the Honorable (?) Howard Marklein, State Senator of the 17th District in a recent copy of the Dodgeville Chronicle. He is "frustrated" with Governor Evers vetoing several bills which the Senator and his buddies at our State Government put in front of him for signing.
What he didn't say was that buried in some of these bills were items restricting our voter rights and how students are taught American History, which some of these representatives must have decided that our teachers do not know how to teach.
That said, I would like to discuss the Senator's "boondoggle" (work or activity that is wasteful or pointless but gives the appearance of having value.) I am talking about how he somehow pushed through the "wonderful" (NOT) road to get to Ridgeway from the west. Instead of having a simple way to get to Ridgeway, you have to go through several miles of roads along with roundabouts, taking a trip through some beautiful farm land to get to Ridgeway. Or you can go to the East side of Ridgeway near Hi Point and simply turn off there to get to downtown. This was a great waste of highway dollars and why were acres and acres of good farm land taken out of production...? (MONEY?) Perhaps we should look at his "well-heeled" donors too.
I, for one, am very grateful for Gov. Evers and his vetos. Please look closer at these vetos and why our governor vetoed them instead of listening to Howard Marklein!
