While there are multiple sides to a story one thing that really stood out in my mind was this. It's more than okay to have differing opinions-it is most important to be honest about it.
Sunday's NFL halftime segment shed light on the Aaron Rodgers COVID-19 situation.
Yes I brought it up: the Aaron Rodgers situation. I suggest saving your groans and "here we go" comments.
One thing we need to recognize is that multiple things can be true at the same time. While I recognize and respect that the Green Bay quarterback made the choice to not be vaccinated, we have to remember he did say that he was "immunized" back in August.
Unfortunately this turned out to be false.
In my opinion, Terry Bradshaw nailed it on the head when discussing it during the half-time segment. While granted it is Rodgers choice to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or not, he was dishonest about it for months.
Saying you're immunized earlier in the year and then it is revealed that you were in fact not vaccinated is just that: dishonesty.
I will reiterate that while it was his choice, he did not have to mislead his his teammates and his fans.
I wasn't really into National football growing up, but I have enjoyed watching the Packers during the weekend.
I don't know if I will be watching any NFL games anytime soon, more because of this.
Unfortunately he will lose a lot of respect for his dishonesty. Rodgers had his chance to lead by example through telling his fanbase the truth.
Not only was he dishonest, he refused to abide the protocol given to him by professional medical personnel.
He used his fame to undermine the medical guidance given to him, and he listened to a public talkshow host notorious for spreading misinformation. Because of that, I feel his actions were selfish especially since the Packers are at a 7-2 record. He was thinking more about himself than his teammates, and he paid the consequence for his dishonesty and selfishness.
I believe that Rodgers can still turn it around by not making the same mistake going forward.
I hope for his sake, and his fans sake, that he takes this time to self-reflect.
